According to Forbes, the combined earnings of the top 10 highest paid players in the world amounts to nearly 1 billion dollars๐ฒ.
This figure has increased significantly following the big signings made by Saudi Pro League clubs. In fact four of the top 10 highest paid are now playing in the Saudi Pro League. According to FIFA, agents fees for international player transfers amounted to nearly £800m in 2023, and the top two spenders were:
1. English clubs spent $1.98bn (£1.6bn);
2. Saudi Pro League Clubs spent $875.4m (£701.6m).*๐ต
The earnings of the players in the list include a salary paid in accordance with the terms of a contract with a club, which includes bonuses, all prize money, and salaries earned in the past 12 months.
